Question?!
Any of you mummy's or daddy's ever thought that something you thought was impossible could actually be something real?
Well we think something is going on with Daisy's right ear! More than likely going to be nothing but I guess we keep hoping there might be something there.
Every time I put the right hearing aid in she just changes, I can't even describe it! She straight away try's to look for the sound, (well we think she does) and she lets out the biggest smiles and giggles with it in. The left ear there is nothing at all,no smiles no giggles. We can make her laugh and smile without them in but it's hard work!
When we went to see mandy one of many of our audiologist's to sort out Daisy's new pink hearing aids she also thought what I was thinking for weeks! She told us it could be nothing at all, or it could be a slight hearing with it in, even though she failed all hearing tests. Or it could be there is some stimulation in the right ear which is tickling her ear when we speak. Basically we will never know until we have our hearing tests over at Nottingham. Which I am still waiting for a letter from! I hope it's soon..
I guess I just want to know really if any other family's have had the same situation as us, with maybe having a slight hearing or somewhat in one ear? And what actually happened next?.
On to Daisy's development, I was really worried that she wasn't very strong with her neck/head, I honestly had a horrible feeling that her not having very good head control was down to her having CMV, but over the last few days well a week or so, we have been encouraging her to hold her head up mor by putting flashing lights in front of her and mirrors etc.. which actually has been helping! Her head control now is getting so much better by the day!
She's pulling herself forward when sitting up and trying her hardest to try and sit her on her own. She's definitely determined. I think it's because of Amelia, she watches her do it all and she wants to do the same mayabe.
Rolling and tummy time is a definite no! She don't even try and encourage her as she just works herself up, she hates being her tummy. So I'm not going to force her to do something she doesn't want to do.
We're awaiting 6 month old appointments from DR Hackket at heartlands hospital and a physiotherapist for Daisy's for development checks.
We're also awaiting a meeting with our ENT consultant and also another eye test, which is need to chance up.
Daisy also had her blood test to see if her hearing loss could be genetic, but we know it isn't at all. But it's one thing to rule off the list. It was horrible watching it. It was a hot day so you can imagine what the hospital room was like.
They numbed her hands and thankfully it actually numbed it but they unfortunately couldn't get blood out of either hand so they had to get blood out both heels! I was so close to passing out! Sat in the same spot for 45minutes while watching the nurse take my babies blood. Daisy was literally sweating buckets on me which was making me even more hotter. The fan wasn't even facing us and there was no breeze coming through the window it was horrible! I felt sorry Daisy's!
Thankfully they got 2 tubes out her heel and hopefully get the results in 2/3 weeks!
