What a nightmare
4th April 2017
What a nightmare the last few weeks have been.
We had a meeting with Dr Thomas last week, she is a community paediatrician who will be carrying out further tests to make sure that Daisy's hearing isn't genetic. So Bradley and I will have to have a few tests such as, Hearing test and a blood test...
Daisy will be having a few more test too. She will also need an ECG where they will check her heart, as with hearing loss it could be connected with another part of the body, main body parts being the heart and the liver.
We have a MRI scan Friday 5th April. I'm very nervous! Even though I've had one myself, but seeing your 3 month old baby go through this, is not a nice thought! But this scan is essential to ensure there is nothing wrong inside her little head due to CMV and also to see the inner ear.
I firstly got told that Daisy would be sedated when having her MRI scan, but thankfully this won't be the case anymore as they don't like sedating babies very young. I've been told to pretty much starve her. Well Daisy will think that I'm being mean by not feeding her when she wants to be fed, but she's such a greedy guts who always wants to be fed. Daisy goes 3 hours between bottles sometime an hour half! I can't see her lasting 4 hours , it's going to be tough!! Pretty much as soon as I get to the hospital I have to feed her and get her to sleep so they can swaddle her and quickly put her in the scanner for 20 minutes. Its going to be longest 20 Minutes ever!! Wish me luck.
Will this 6 week wait put Daisy back a few months for her Operation or will they fast track her and get her seen ASAP!? I guess we will soon find out.

This week we had some really annoying news! Due to us moving in with Bradley's mom I've had to change my address on all hospital systems, Nottingham being the main one. So I got my mum to ring them up to check to see when we was going to hear off them as it had been 6 weeks since we got referred and to change my address. The news we didn't want to hear at all was that Nottingham hospital hadn't got the referral off County hospital. Even though on the 20th March we met the ENT consultant and he said was going to send it off that day. Not 6 weeks on and still nothing!! We have been waiting for a letter that wasn't even coming. We was all so very annoyed. My mum, emailed Ivan (The Audiologist) who was at the ENT meeting to ask why the referral hadn't been sent yet, Ivan forwarded our email on. However. my determined mom also found a number and she left numerous messages on the answer phone of the consultants secretary. she just wasn't getting a response from anyone.
Luckily my mum rang up Nottingham again the next day, to be told that they finally got the referral faxed LATE LAST NIGHT!
