Happy news

Daisy has been doing amazingly recently.
she had her 4th mapping on Thursday 1st march. We had really bad weather, snow was everywhere and still travelled to Nottingham, we didn't want to miss this appointment at all. thankfully the roads were actually not bad.

Daisy turned her head to every beep that went off, she's alot higher than what they would normal do, but because she wasn't phased by the sound and she was just loving life, they are able to turn her up a smidge more.
Since coming home from the appointment, we've heard 'RARARARA','MAMAMA' which I was crying at, I couldn't believe she could say mama. And today we got 'BABABA' which sometimes sounds like 'DADA' but were not to sure. either way I don't mind as we got mama out of her first.

she a bright spark that is for sure, she learns so quickly. her crawling is so fast now.
Daisy really wants to walk, but hasn't quite got her balance yet but will attempt to walk with a walker, by lifting it up and down. ( strange kid ) and has started to pull herself up from sitting down, holding onto the sofa.

We had physiology a week ago, at heartland hospital. I didn't actually realise how smart was she until then. They did so many activities with Daisy and she did pretty much everyone. she scored between 7 and 10 in most activities and she actually scored a 5 in speech. which I thought was great. with 7 being arrange and she got a 5. I was expecting 1/2.
we have to go back when she is 2 to make sure she is still on track and needing any help with anything. I couldn't be more proud of her.

She always on the go, doesn't stop at all. she's starting to skip out naps because she so interested in sound now.
Daisy and Amelia cant leave each others side at the moment. They're attached to the hip. its so cute, but my god they both know how to fight and daisy always seems to win.

we cant believe that its been a year in feb when we found out about daisy deafness and it was a year in march when we started to ball with cochlear implants. its all gone so fast and look at where we are now. I am very proud of us as a family.

Beautiful blog, Barbs says 'are you sure Daisy is not trying to say her name?' (!), we are both so very proud of you all and send you huge hugs and love. xxxx

Hi there.
Thank you for this blog. My daughter is 17 months old and will have her cochlear implant operation in 10 days time.
Its not yet confirmed but the doctors suspect that her profound deafness is also due to CMV.
We will be having the op at Nottingham just like you - and Donna will be there just like she was for you!

Reading your blog has been really helpful for me to know what to expect. You've included so much detail about the operation day and how Daisy was after. Everyone is really positive and keeps talking about how quickly little ones recover but they don't really tell you exactly what to expect, so this is such valuable info for me.

I'm so glad to hear Daisy is doing well. Thanks again.

Cathy
